Violet did not go with us to trick or treat...which is okay given that she is not quite 5 months old. She insisted on sleeping, so David stayed at the house to greet the trick-or-treaters and watch her. We'll leave out the part that David still thought I took her with me since she was sleeping anyways.
Liam was dressed as a pirate, and I put most of it together myself... We didn't get a good picture though. He would either look away or was crying because it was past his bedtime and he had more sugar then he is used to today. BUT man, he got the hang of trick-or-treating really quickly. He would knock on the door, try to go into the people's house, he would say "tik orteat" and "dank doo" and sometimes after he said thank you he would also say 'your welcome', then he would RUN to the next house and I was tripping trying to keep up with him. We went with my sister Laura and her two little girls, who also seemed to have fun. One house was scary. Liam didn't even notice...not when candy was being handed out. And after he got his candy he would point to his cousin Maya to make sure they gave her some too. Phew, that was a workout and we only went to about 10 houses...soon Liam started to suck on a sucker through the wrapper since I wasn't opening it for him and after that he was done.
David and I dressed up too. David was a Black Belt Karate Man with a black eye, swollen lip and cheek and a sprained wrist. I was an Old Maid. It was fun dressing up.

Poo-Poo in the Potty!
That's right! Liam came up to me today and said "Mommy? Poo-poo in the potty?" while pointing toward the bathroom. I said "Do you need to go poo-poo in the potty?" just to clarify and he said "Uh-Hum". I was feeding Violet, so David got him prepared to sit down on the potty. Again we really didn't think he would actually go. But he did! He went in his little potty chair, then took the poop out with his hands...I'll overlook that for now...and dumped it in the toilet and said "bye bye poo-poo" and let us wash his hands and wipe his bottom. I am so proud of him, he is really picking up on this potty business.
So Mad
I hate when stuff like the following, get me all upset. Life is too short...but I got upset anyway.
I was in the drive-thru line at Schlotzsky's Deli. Had been waiting for 18 minutes with Liam and Violet in the car after having ran some errands. Some lady in a new Honda Civic pulls in from the opposite side and sits there expecting me to let her in ahead of me...even though the line is behind me.
Let me describe this lady so you can picture her. She is probably in her 40's. She looks like she's lived in Texas her whole life. I say that not to be disrespectful to Texans...but perhaps you know what I am describing better when I say that. She has a poofy type short hair do, curled at the ends and seperated so it poofs all around her head. She has on a large, silver colored ring with lots of little Diamonds all over it...kind of gaudy in my opinion. A silver watch and a few dangling silver colored bracelets on the same arm. French manicured looking fake nails...I know all of this because she kept her arm hanging out of her window. She was a white lady, but very very very tan...the kind you have to go to a tanning salon to get...at least when you are a white person. She had on earrings too and a necklace...just too much jewlery, again in my opinion. And she was smacking on some gum.
So there is a car in front of me where she is in front of that car's side...like a T, waiting for that car to pull forward so she can jet in front of me.
I call David to ask if this has happened before here. It has. I ask him what did he do. He said "I let them in". Hahaha. Probably the Christain thing to do...but I had a toddler and a baby in the car...ticking time-bombs. Going on 20 minutes in a drive-thru line and she was CUTTING IN FRONT OF ME. Well she manages to poke the nose of her car in front of me.
I honk.
She stares at me and mouths "what, I'm next"!
I mouth "No you are not, I've been here since 12'!
She mouths "I'm next"
I say QUIETLY to David so Liam won't hear me "What a Bitch"
Her mouth drops open because she understood me.
I look at her and mouth "that's right, you are a bitch"!
She mouths "I am next"
I say "The Line starts back there"! and point behind me
She points to her entrance and says "No it's here too"
THE SIGN SAYS ENTER...but doesn't say Drive Thru Enter...you can see by the way it curves around that it is not the Entrance to the drive-thru, merely to the parking lot. I could have went in that way too and tried to cut in front of everyone also. But that would be unfair to all the people waiting.
So I say "I have a hungry little boy in the car"!
She shakes her head points to herself and says "I was next"!
I say "NO YOU WEREN'T, I've been here since 12"!
She shakes her head...I know this could have went on for a while. I finally give her the OKAY with my fingers and say "OKAY, Whatever"!
I am still on the phone with David. He's telling me it's okay, the line will move fast. I start crying. Yeah I did. Just a little...the pissed off kind of crying...I was just so mad at that lady. I think that has ruined me for the Schlotzsky's drive-thru :( I finally got our food after 36 minutes of waiting...and yeah Violet was crying her head off by that time.

Pee-Pee in the Potty
Yipee! I was using the bathroom and Liam walks in (the non-privacy of being a mother of a toddler)...when he announces that he needs to "go potty" while lifting up his shirt. So I take off his diaper and set him down on the potty chair thinking he just wants to play around. I go to check on Violet and when I come back he is still sitting there just talking and brushing his hair. I go to lift up his shirt so incase he does go, it doesn't get his shirt all wet...what do I see in the potty but pee-pee!!! He went pee-pee again! I am soooo happy!!! He got a small bit size 3 musketeers bar for that...even though it was only 10:30 in the morning ;)

Adventures in Potty Training...
Liam made contact today! Woot-woot!
David was changing his diaper when suddenly David yelps out, then says "HOLD IT, HOLD IT, HOLD IT" while carrying him to the potty chair. Hold it he did, until he sat down! I can't believe it. David said he had started to pee when David yelped, then he stopped peeing, so David took a chance. I'll admit, that is a chance I wouldn't have thought of taking...'They' say that boys take longer then girls to potty train, and that this may be due to the fact that the mothers are usually the ones doing all the training and the fact that the mamas have different equipment... Perhaps with Davids help, we'll actually get him to learn to use the potty sooner then later.
For peeing in the potty chair, he got a piece of Dove chocolate.

Carving Pumpkins
When I had bought pumpkins earlier this month and brought them home;
David said: "What are the pumpkins for, eating"?
Me: "Ha, no we are going to carve them and set them outside for decoration"
David: "Have you ever even carved pumpkins before"?
Me snickering: "Yes, of course I have"...then dawning on me..."WAIT, haven't YOU"?
David: "No"
Me in disbelief: "Never"?
David: "Nope"
Me: "wait...really"?
David: "Really"
Today we finally carved the pumpkins. His turned out great, and I daresay he was proud of his jack-o-lantern. He did Jack Skellington from "The Nightmare Before Christmas". Of course I cleaned out the pumpkins, I figured he wouldn't enjoy that part too much...need to break him in slowly to these things.
I have since learned he has never dyed Easter eggs either... These are usually things I do every year, but haven't since we got married. First two years of our marriage I was too busy with school...using all, if any, creative juices I had. And then the third year... with a new baby and a small apartment the prospect of carving pumpkins or dying Easter eggs just did not appeal to me. We can check carving pumpkins off of the list, the egg dying we will check off this Easter.

Conversations in the Car
David: Look at that guy walking...
Me: What? Where? (all I see are cars)
David: He's up on that bill board

Dentist Part II
Was supposed to have a teeth cleaning today but my teeth freakin' hurt still. I told them I was scared it would make the pain worse because of all the scrubbing and scraping... So they didn't clean my teeth.
He took more x-rays of the teeth to see if he missed something. Still didn't see the problem. So he referred me to an Endodontic, I have to wait 2 more weeks to see them though :( But he promised me if there is a problem they will figure it out...

Sing Along
After singing along with the t.v. to Sleeping Beauty's 'Once Upon A Dream' song.
Violet smiling at me.
Liam eating breakfast.
David: I am not even going to ask how you know that song.
Me: What? Why? What do you mean by that? It's from Sleeping Beauty! And the words were on the t.v. screen...even though I know the song anyway...
David: Yeah I know, when singing to karaoke you have the words but don't always know the song.
Me: Well it's Sleeping Beauty. I love that song.
That was it. He never explained why it bothered him that I knew that song.

Oops!
So we ordered some Mexican food tonight from the guys who deliver. We got those appetizer's we like and some chips and salsa. Except I was distracted by the t.v. when I was ordering and I may have said chips and queso...even though this does not seem possible as I do not care for queso all that much and it certainly wasn't on my mind as I've never ordered it either...but again I was distracted. The guy asked me what size queso I wanted and I assumed it must come with the salsa so I said the smallest size. Then he told me my total...which should have been maybe $13 with tax...possibly a $2 delivery charge, it was $20. I didn' t question this until after I got off the phone with him. Because with math my brain is a little slow...
I told David. He is all WHAT? How is that possible. We figured they must have a seven dollar delivery charge. So I said, oh well I guess we don't need to tip because it looks like they include it. Yep, Oooooppps. We didn't tip the delivery guy......then I realized my mistake. We heard the delivery guy zoom away in a pissed off manner. David said 'well they got our order wrong' but I said 'unless I really did say chips and queso, and even then I heard him ask me about the queso'. The queso did cost about $5 more. I feel so bad :(
Also, I pulled an Abby the other day ;) My sister-in-law is notoriously clumsy and has twisted her knee from tripping more then a few times... Dave and I were taking the kids for a walk in the neighborhood and I was explaining something about our flag pole holder to David (I know my conversation is fascinating)...I was even using dramatic hand gestures looking up in the air to describe the location of our flag pole holder... yes I was. When suddenly my foot hits an uprooted sidewalk and my leg gets kicked back in the wrong direction, it pulls my knee backwards because my thigh was still moving forward...yet somehow I managed to catch myself by putting a hand on the stroller before eating it. David said thank goodness my hands were in the air. Of course if I wasn't looking in the air at my gesturing hands I might not have tripped in the first place. My knee hurt a bit, but not too much nor for too long, thank goodness.

To My Negative Commentators
OK So I feel I need to clarify a few things. THis will be my last post on this as some of the replies make me physically ill.
A) I do not think I am God. I never condemned anyone to Hell in my post. I said they will have to answer for what they did (we all will), I have no idea how God will judge them. Somebody wrote me and said I was going to Hell for passing judgment and thinking I am God...yeah THEY said I was going to HELL for passing judgment...anyone else see the irony there?
B) I am aloud to make judgment calls based on morality...ALL criminal laws are based on morality issues. To judge the actions/situations without judging a person specifically. If you are telling me the Bible says don't judge...please read Corinthians Chapter 6. Funny how people only focus on parts of the Bible that seemingly justify their actions. *sarcastic* I guess in the Bible nobody ever warned the wicked to repent Huh? I mean that would make them judgmental...right? Except again, read Corinthians Chapter 6...that is to the people
who are quoting Bible verses to me.
C) There are about 50 million abortions in the world a year...less then 5% of those are a result from becoming pregnant due to rape, incest or health issues together. And even those instances don't ALWAYS warrant abortion...you should to talk to God to make that call...I am sorry for you if you don't believe in God.
D) I say I know with a surety that it is murder because I have been pregnant. If you are a man who can never even be pregnant or a woman who's never had a baby, telling me I don't know what I am talking about...really, you have no idea. I have been pregnant and I have been blessed with two beautiful babies. Why then while I was pregnant was I asked to take multivitamins to help the developing brain cells of the fetus?...and does calling it a fetus make it less human? Interesting that they monitored the baby's (which they also called the fetus) heartbeat. That they make sure the baby is ALIVE and kicking. If a baby dies in Utero...say the fetus dies...how can this thing that's nothing die if it's not even alive until it is born? That a friend of mines baby was born after only 21 weeks and is alive today with some eyesight problems. One responder said I am an idiot, that a single cell organism isn't a baby. Yeah she called the baby a single cell organism...UH it is NEVER a single cell organism...who is the idiot? And by the time
a woman learns she is pregnant, these "lump of cells" as another called it...has a heartbeat and brain waves. Do people really think it isn't alive? That it is a lump of cells until it is born
then POOF! A baby! That is really scientific people. This precious life is viewed nothing more then a thing until it breathes air? It is less then the lowliest of animals? This breaks my heart...and yet I am the evil one? WOW.
E) An observation I have...coincidence? I find it interesting that my friends even family who have zero belief in God are not very happy people. They often find life meaningless (their words), and many of them (not all) aren't married or have children. Some lead selfish, self serving lives. Some have drinking or drug problems. I still love them and respect their right to their beliefs, but why don't they ever consider that it might be because they have no hope?
I am happy, I know my purpose in this life and I know family is the most important institution in the world...is it so terrible that I know they can be happy too and want that for them as well? When you are doing what is right there is no struggle. People have told me that abortion is a very difficult decision...are they telling me this because it means they must have had a good reason for it? Because what I get from that statement is, due to the fact that it is a difficult decision, this tells me it is because your soul was fighting against it.
I found this womans story very interesting and touching.

I am not even sure where to start and this will be long but here goes.
I have read Dooce for quite a while and commented only one other time, I think it was for "And Boom". I said that I had three abortions and that not a day went by that I did not regret it. At some point, another commenter asked what right did I have telling someone else that they couldn't do what I had chosen to do three times. I did not get a chance to reply to that comment, but it looks like you have opened up another way for me to do that now.
I don't think I have a "right" to tell others what they can and cannot do, but I can tell you the story of MY life, and why I will vote for John McCain with no question.
My roots are quite the opposite of yours, Heather. My parents divorced when I was six. My dad skipped out on his child support obligation for the four of us and so my Mom went on welfare. There was never a father figure in my life, my mom had boyfriends here and there but nothing serious.
The only religion I knew was going to church randomly with friends if I spent the night at their house on Saturday. I recall a Baptist Church and one other Pentecostal when I was very young.
I met a boy when I was 14, he was 17. We were having sex for quite a while and never got pregnant because we made sure we didn't. My home life grew more difficult. My mom was depressed most of the time, my older brother had gotten into drugs, I was skipping school and hanging around this boy all the time-it was overwhelming for my mom, and I just wanted out. So I decided to try to get pregnant and I did.
Twelve days before my 16th birtday, my son was born. His dad joined the Army, we got married, and when he was out of bootcamp we joined him in Kansas. He was possessive and violent. Of course I saw the signs early on but thought he would change. He didn't, so I left.
I met someone else while still living in Kansas. I filed for divorce from my husband and lived with my boyfriend for about a year, after which we decided to break up and I moved with my son back to Ohio.
I soon realized I was pregnant with that boyfriends child. I had started a new job and was trying to get on my feet and take care of my son. I was in denial about being pregnant. I knew I was, but kept ignoring it because I did not want to face it.
Finally, I decided the problem was not going to solve itself and I decided to have an abortion. I was twenty- two weeks pregnant when I had my abortion. Because I was so far along, it was a two step process: the nurse inserted some "poisonous sticks" (that's what she called them) into my cervix and then I went home. I was to return the next day and they would complete the procedure.
That night was the first night I felt the baby move. The nurse told me that I would not be able to stop the abortion once the sticks were inserted. I laid there most of the night feeling the baby move, knowing that poison was killing the baby and that there was no turning back. The next day they removed the baby.
Within the next four years I would have two more abortions, having gotten pregnant by two different guys. I cannot tell you what day or year they occurred. I have erased that information from my mind.
I do remember it being a gray, cold day when I had the third one. I sat in the parking lot of the abotion clinic afterwards and just felt so empty and worthless inside.
I am leaving out alot of stuff and this is still running long-I am sorry, but my life has been filled with tremendous sadness, many difficulties, drugs, promiscuity, on and on... a blatent disregard for life, sometimes including my own life.
You and I, Heather, have lived our lives in complete opposites it seems. You were raised with God, I was not. You are now pushing God away, and I am getting closer to him. I used to think JUST LIKE YOU. I thought there was a "my God" and "your God". There isn't, there is one.
We must create seperate Gods when we do not want to do what the actual one God wants us to do. It is how we live with ourselves and justify what we do. I did that for many years.
I am now 38. I have a wonderful husband of 9 years. My son is 22 and serving our country in the United States Army. I am so very proud of him. He is my Hero. I have a beautiful daughter the same age as Leta, and another new precious baby girl who is three months old.
I feel, in many ways, like I am a completely different person than the one who aborted three babies. I can never truly articulate how deeply sorry I am for not giving them a chance at life. I think I really began waking up to the reality of what I had done when I carried my four year old. And now, when I look into the eyes of that sweet little baby girl it makes my heart yearn for those children. All moms know that feeling you get when your babies smile at you-it makes me so sad that I will never see their smiles here on earth.
Abortion is wrong. It hurts everyone involved. All babies are a gift from God and should be treasured. All I can do for those three babies of mine is tell my story, their story, and try to just let people know that it is devastating to lose children to abortion. I thought I was doing what I had to do at the time but I will never be free of the pain of losing my babies, and the shame of knowing that I killed them.
I attended a Rachel's Vineyard retreat in 2007. It is a place where women and men can go for help with healing after abortion. It is non-denominational but they also have some specifically for the Catholic faith. If anyone out there is hurting from abortion, please check them out
www.rachelsvineyard.org
That is why I am voting for John Mccain. I will always support the candidate who is pro-life.
She is sorry for her actions, she is repenting. Good for her. She posted later when questioned about having multiple abortions when feeling so guilty after the first one.
Women who have multiple abortions are not likely using it as birth control. Having multiple abortions is a form of post traumatic stress, where the first one is so devastating that women try to recreate the situation in an attempt to "do the right thing" the next time, or to sort of avenge the first baby....but instead, they end up aborting again which then confirms that they are a bad person after all, leaving them caught in an awful cycle.
The most that I have heard of is a woman who had eight abortions.
Pray for them.
I hope that makes sense, I know it's confusing. But I learned
That because I had three abortions, and the subject of multiple abortions is covered in the book, "Forbidden Grief" by Theresa Burke.

then POOF!

Want TO Scream!
Abortion is MURDER. I believe this 100%. I am sick of hearing that I need to understand the other point of view on this subject. If I believe it is murder, and it is, then how in the world do you expect me to justify it for you? I believe if you've had an abortion, you know in your heart and soul that you killed one of Gods children. You don't believe in God...ignorance for the law is no excuse...I still believe you feel it was wrong and you will have to answer for it someday. This is not a gray issue. I am sick of hearing about a woman's right to make decisions about her body. What about the unborn child's rights? This isn't some little plant you are growing in your body, it is a HUMAN BEING. It is a LIFE that you decided to take away. It does not matter if you got pregnant due to being raped or if your baby has a birth defect you can't deal with...the end result is murder. If you were tramatically raped and got pregnant and abort the pregnancy...you just commited a sin worse then the rapist himself. That child was still half of you, and adoption is always an option if you just can't deal.
And don't get me started on partial-birth abortions, these make me want to vomit. I know I've heard the "what if the mothers life is in danger"? reasoning too...What woman who has a heart and conscience picks her life over her baby's life? Let us say I was in that RARE situation. I cannot say I wouldn't be scared...but these start after 20 weeks of gestation to 8 months...are you telling me a mother wouldn't want to keep the baby inside her as long as physically possible and then opt for an early delivery in hopes of saving both her life and her child's life. What life threatening situation would a woman say "yeah go ahead and kill the baby so I can live"...doesn't that logic give you chills? Well one of our presidential candidates *cough...Obama...cough cough* will only vote against partial birth abortions if the "unless a mother's life is in danger" clause is included. And people wonder why everyone doesn't want to vote for him...for some of us, electing a person with such evil morals trying to disguise them as justices goes against every fiber of our being.

Oh Brother
The toothache was gone yesterday! Oh what a relief. But in its place came a horrible migraine...it is still pulsating a bit more mildly behind my right eye. I hate all these pains; labor, toothache and migraines but they are all different kinds of pain. If I were in labor right now I would be willing to trade it for a toothache or migraine, even though the last few days I would have traded the toothache for labor or a migraine...and yesterday I would have liked to trade the migraine for a toothache or labor! Conclusion? I don't like pain...in any way shape or form.

Dentist Part I
Had an appointment this morning. After I described the pain, the Dentist said he'd never heard anyone describe such a painful tooth experience, that he didn't know what it could be. Now he probably thinks I was being dramatic, but I did have two babies without pain medication...so I am not a complete wuss. I was just very descriptive.
He took an x-ray, it showed no problems, no infections or anything. Since the teeth that were hurting were cavities that had been filled last March, he supposed that the filling was too high/full? I don't know how to describe that...and when I bite down it hits there first, it is probably intensified by my nightly teeth grinding and the fact that I already have sensitive teeth. So he shaved the tooth cap/filling a bit so the teeth don't hit together first...though they still touch. I don't know if this will help. We'll see.
So next step is next week have my teeth cleaned since it's been a year. I also have about 6 cavities to fill! Those numbers based from over two years ago before having Liam...might have more, I hope not. Once all my cavities are filled, then they will fit me for a mouth piece to wear at night to help with the teeth grinding.

Liam Update: 2 Years
How blessed mine and Davids lives have been these past two years. To have such a wonderful little boy who brings so much joy to our home!
He is learning so much in ways of speaking. He constantly repeats what we say when we are talking, as his way of learning. I love it. It makes me smile. He does it the most when we are explaining why he shouldn't do something. Like when he drew all over the dining room wall with a marker and mama said "this is a no-no, we do not draw on the wall, only on paper", he repeated while I was talking "no-no, do not draw wall, paper". Then he tried to help me clean it...unfortunately it was not coming off. He had also drawn on the kitchen cabinets, which he showed to me by pointing and saying very sternly "no-no!" then he took the magic eraser sponge thingy said "thank you mommy" and proceeded to clean the cabinets. I was very happy with him. At least those wiped clean...unlike the walls.
If you were wondering what I was doing while he was drawing on the walls, I was feeding Violet...and he was being very quiet so I kept saying "Liam, what are you doing? Are you being good?" and he would say "uh-huh".
Later he said "NO-NO", again...then he came to get me, pulled me by the hand to the family room. Said "NO-NO mommy" again, while pointing to the back of the couch...which had some marker on it and he proceeded to clean that up with a bunch of baby wipes he had pulled out. I told him "that's right, that's a no-no...paper only". I didn't get mad because that marker was from a few months ago! Lol.
On his birthday David and I were so excited to wake him up, so we went to listen at his door to see if he was stirring inside...he was. So we opened the door and started to sing Happy Birthday. He smiled. Then we surprised him with a birthday balloon...which he spent the rest of the morning playing with. David and I were busy preparing the house for guests and this made us have to ignore our little birthday boy...which made him very moody. He kept whining and crying about his balloon...he wanted it freed from the weight that was on it, but then when David freed it, Liam kept letting the string go so it would float to the ceiling...then he'd whine some more for David to get it down. Finally David removed the little ribbon and put on a long, heavy piece of yarn...this allowed Liam to toss the balloon up, but the string was heavy enough to bring it back down to him. Very smart.
Around 10:30 we put Liam down for a nap since family would be arriving at 12. People came, pizzas arrived, we started eating and visiting. Then we sang happy birthday. I had made 2 dozen chocolate cupcakes, half with chocolate frosting and half with vanilla frosting both with rainbow sprinkles on top. Liam had a big smile on his face for the singing. He tried his best to blow out the candles...he tried the whole time we were singing in fact. Finally at the end of the song, his cousin Xavier (who turned 2 a few months before) blew them out perfectly! Liam ate his cupcake with his face, no hands. It gave him a little goatee and mustache. My camera is out of batteries of course, and we are out of video tape...makes me sad when we miss taping these moments...especially with both babies growing up so fast. David's mom took some pictures with her camera at least.
Then I tried my best to get him to open his gifts. His cousins helped him out! He showed little interest until he opened the gift from my sister Laura...it contains letters, lowercase ones with wooden puzzle boards that have cut outs of, for example, b o a t and a picture of a boat, so the little letters fit inside. He still loves the alphabet. He has been carrying that toy around since, and has actually refrained from scattering the letters all over the house.
He also got 2 pairs of new shoes and 4 shirts from David's parents...Tata and Boo. A cool truck toy that has wheels that wind up and then go over anything and practically up the wall, that was from his Uncle Connor. A Berenstein Bears Halloween book from his Tio Ken and Tia Abby. His cousins Goku and Xavier (and Tia Eileen and Tio Adam) got him a medley of stuff including a hand made card from Goku, frog stickers, giant balloons with those rubber bands on the end so you can hit them fast against your fists...he tried to take those with him to bed tonight! haha. Also candy m&m's and a big box of Nerds (David said "hey look, a bunch of me's in a box" haha, he's so cute. His Aunt Amber and Uncle Ryan got him a boat bath toy. My mom and dad (grandma and grandpa) got him a Sit and Spin! He was really getting into that one last night. He can't work it quite right yet, but he stands on it and spins it just a little bit side to side...not all the way around yet. Everyone was really generous and I hope I didn't leave anybody out.
David and I got him "The Emperors New Grove" DVD, a ton of playdough with tools...will open that to play with tomorrow. A Berenstein Bears Go To The Doctor book to go along with a new doctor kit...hint hint Liam! LOL, this is sort of true, I will be proud of him no matter what career he chooses someday as long as it makes him happy (and is legal)...but I want him to know that he can be whatever he wants to be and to set his sights high.

Tooth-Hurty
That's from a dorky dentist type pun referencing an appointment at 2:30.
Two of my teeth are killing me. I mean KILLING ME. It's been going on for over a month, but last night I had the worst pain my mouth has ever experienced. I felt like my raw nerve endings were exposed. My teeth felt like they were vibrating and the two that were hurting, well they felt like they were going to explode at any moment. Just burst open and shatter into a million pieces.
I tried so many things. I used this special red cross stuff that's supposed to numb the tooth and roots...some got on my tongue and burned it. I took Tylenol a few times. Finally at around 4:30 in the morning, I took one of my Tylenol with Codeine that I had left over from after I had Violet and I just numbed the area completely with a ton of oragel. That worked long enough for me to sleep, until the baby woke up around 7.
Now I need to make an appointment to see the Dentist because I can't live like this!

Tired!
Violet is teething. She is hard to console lately, even with the baby Oragel on her gums. She'll smile one minute and scream out in pain the next all the while chomping on her little fingers. I have been holding her ALL morning...she is finally so exhausted herself that she fell asleep.
Liam is eating his lunch. I made spaghetti between consoling the crying baby. He wouldn't try it. So I told him I would give him some juice if he ate a bite. He did. Then he smiled. He liked it! So now he is eating mama's spaghetti (I make it a little spicy, I guess he likes that) and sipping on some juice.
Tomorrow I need to get the place clean because we are having a little family b-day party for Liam on Saturday. I have cupcakes to make and a birthday boy balloon to buy...and a few little gifts to wrap.

Celebrating 4 Years
Of marriage. A happy marriage....as long as I'm not pregnant! Hahaha. Oh yeah, I know I am a crazy nut when pregnant. We will go through it one more time (if we are blessed enough) because our kids are so wonderful. During our anniversary day out, we went to look for possible Halloween decorations. Nothing too crazy, our budget is tighter now thanks to the evacuation of hurricane Ike. We were at Hobby Lobby and we didn't see anything we liked, so I suggested we look at Christmas decorations. And I love David because he looked at the Christmas decorations with me :) We started to pick out a few ornaments and David suggested getting some picture frame ornaments for the kids. We finally found some we agreed upon. David reminded me that we need to get three because we want one more baby someday. This way they all have one that is similar because they hold the same size picture and they have the same colors...we got candycanes that make a heart frame for Violet, a present shaped frame for Liam and one shaped like those round bulb-like ornaments-frame for our unknown loved one. I love that our future baby is already in our hearts.
We celebrated our anniversary this weekend though it was on Wednesday. Besides holiday decoration shopping, David and I went to dinner and a movie, very typical of us. I was thinking 'are we too predictable?' 'boring?' Then I realized that I really enjoy dinner and a movie with David, so who cares what others might think about it.
I love you David! To another 4 years... x forever= me happy.

Reason Number 302
That I love living here. We just discovered a Mexican Restaurant that does delivery! And the food is really good! They actually shut-down the restaurant part of it so they can handle all of the delivery calls they get. David discovered it. He gets home late nowadays and when he comes home he doesn't feel well, and he is NEVER hungry for anything more then a bowl of cereal. So I have become lax on making dinner.
The other day (our anniversary actually) he surprised me by coming home early with a boquet of flowers! We are planning on celebrating this weekend so we had no plans that day. But because he was home early, he was hungry for dinner. I had nothing prepared to make so he suggested we order in. I didn't feel like pizza because we are going to have a ton for Liam's birthday on the 11th, and neither of us are liking the chinese food take-out lately. So I was complaining that those are our only options and how sucky that is.
So David went online and found this place that is just around the corner from our house. We ordered an appetiser medley of flautas, taquitos, empenadas and quesadilas so we could see what we liked AND we ordered fajitas. The appetiser's were enough for both of us, but it was only $8 so we had to order a little more for the delivery. The appetisers were very delicious and I reheated the fajitas for lunch the next day, yummy. It will provide a nice change of pace from pizza and chinese food on delivery nights.

Violet Update: 4 Months
Violet turned 4 months old yesterday. She is soooo sweet. I say that every post but it's the best way to describe her personality. She smiles all of the time. This really cute smile that scrunches up her nose and gives her sunshine-y eyes. I love waking up and cuddling with her for an hour while she just gives you smile after smile, never getting tired of it.
I have started transitioning her to sleep in her crib in her own room...but she always wakes up around 1 a.m. screaming her head off for as long as it takes for me to go get her. I should soothe her but not pick her up or cuddle for 5 minutes and put her back down. But no, I bring her to our bed then nurse her until we both fall asleep. Not a good habit. I never did that with Liam, and he has a perfect sleep schedule and always has. But he was easy to transition because he was an independent baby, while she loves loves loves to be held. She takes her afternoon nap in her crib without any problems, but her morning and later evening naps have to be in her swing or she just cries.
She plays well on the floor, but hasn't been rolling back to front or front to back since last month. She has started to scoot forward when she is on her tummy, she'll push hard with her little feet. She doesn't get too far yet.
Liam loves her so much, he says 'oh no baby cry' when she cries. I breastfeed her directly now, but still occasionally pump milk if she sleeps through a feeding or when we go to Church. When I have those bottles for her, Liam insists on feeding her. He will give her a little, put the bottle up, run and get a big towel to wipe the little bit of milk she might have around her mouth, then run to put the towel back, then feed her more...etc. the cycle is never ending until I have to say...'Ok, let's just let her finish eating now', or 'I don't think she is hungry anymore'.
The other day I was playing with her and she was talking loudly. She always babbles so loudly, and sucks in air and gasps. Liam found it hilarious and started to crack up laughing. I realized that by 4 months he was laughing all of the time. I've only heard her laugh out loud (while awake) once. Mainly she just smiles and talks. After some time of playing with her and talking to her, Liam appears next to us with a binky (pacifier) in his mouth and a baby rattle in his hand and he starts to shake it. Then he climbs next to me to snuggle. It was really cute, he is still a little guy afterall.
Violet doesn't care for binky's, but has found her thumb and sucks it all of the time. I've tried to get her to use the pacifier, but she really doesn't like it. She'll spit it out and then put her thumb in her mouth. It is so cute...I just hope it doesn't become a hard habit to break like it is for some... When she cries Liam will run over with a binky to try to soothe her...it's so cute, he'll open his mouth wide because that's what he wants her to do, and if she isn't taking it, then he'll hold her forehead and try to smoosh it into her mouth. It doesn't seem to bother her so I don't make a big deal about it, she acutally stops crying when he does this.
I was in the kitchen the other day doing some dishes and she was in her bouncy seat when she starts to cry. I say "Hold on baby" but not long after she stops crying. I go to feed her and I see that she has a blanket that she didn't have before, her little doll I hadn't given to her and Liam next to her talking to her and giving her kisses and she just looks at him and smiles.
